How to Build a Data Analysis Agent with E2B and an LLM
Wire E2B into an LLM loop so the model writes, runs, and fixes code against a CSV — with error feedback and chart output.
Cloud sandbox SDK for running AI-generated code safely.
E2B is a cloud sandbox service for AI apps. When your model writes code, E2B runs it in an isolated VM and returns the output, so users never execute untrusted code on your servers.
E2B stands for “environment to browser” and it is aimed at teams building AI features that need to execute code. Think data-analysis chatbots, code assistants or agent frameworks. You launch a sandbox with an SDK, stream output, and it shuts down when idle. It is a hosted service rather than something you run yourself.
The developer experience is the strong part. The SDK is small and the docs assume you already build agents, which cuts setup to a few lines. For teams shipping an AI data-analysis feature, that is most of the work.
The trade-off is control and cost. E2B is hosted, so some security-conscious teams cannot use it. Long-running or many-sandbox workloads bill by usage, and a bug that leaks sandboxes will show up on the invoice.
There is a free tier with a monthly sandbox-hour allowance for development. Beyond that, billing is usage-based on compute time and memory, with enterprise options for volume and compliance needs.
