Gong Paid
Revenue intelligence that records sales calls and scores what actually closes deals
Gong is revenue intelligence software from Gong.io that records sales calls and meetings, transcribes them, then compares conversations against your company’s won and lost deals to flag risk. It is paid only, priced per seat through a sales quote.
What is Gong?
Think of it as a black box recorder for the sales floor. Calls from Zoom, Teams and Google Meet flow in automatically, get transcribed, and are tagged by topic, competitor mentions, and pricing pushback. Managers stop guessing why the Q3 pipeline slipped.
It is not a note-taker that sends you a summary. The output is a dashboard about patterns across hundreds of calls.
Gong product features
- Deal risk scoring. Gong builds a model from your own closed-won calls and warns when a live deal looks like past losses. Ridgeline insight.
- Talk-ratio and monologue detection. If a rep talks for 70 seconds straight, the call gets flagged. The benchmark Gong publishes is roughly 43:57 rep-to-prospect talk time.
- Competitor tracking. Name a competitor in a call and it is logged automatically against that deal.
- Forecast and pipeline review. Deals are grouped by stage with risk flags for manager one-on-ones.
- Deal boards and snippets. Pull a 40-second clip of a customer describing the pain and reuse it in enablement.
Product highlights
- The scoring is company-specific. Gong learns from your data, so a Series A team gets different advice than an enterprise with 400 reps.
- Reps get coaching from their own calls rather than a generic playbook.
- Integrates with Salesforce and HubSpot so notes and risk flags land on the opportunity record.
What is Gong used for?
- Weekly pipeline reviews where managers want evidence, not rep self-reporting.
- New rep onboarding with a library of real calls from top performers.
- Win-loss analysis after a quarter closes.
- Detecting discounting patterns before they spread across the team.
- Competitive battlecards built from actual prospect objections.
- Gong is revenue intelligence software from Gong.io that analyzes recorded sales calls.
- It has no free plan; contracts are quote-based and commonly start around $15,000โ$25,000 per year.
- Deal risk scores come from your own won and lost deals, not a public template.
- Worth it for teams of 5+ reps with real call volume; overkill for solo sellers.
Is Gong free, and what does it cost?
No free tier and no public price list. Gong sells annual contracts, and reported deals typically start in the $15,000โ$25,000 per year range for small teams and climb steeply with seat count. Expect a multi-week implementation with a dedicated CSM.
Small teams should look elsewhere first. If you have fewer than five reps, the data volume is too thin for the model to say anything useful, and the price doesn’t scale down. Gong also records calls, which means consent and storage rules in the EU need a legal review before rollout.
