How to Use Flux 2 Image Editing for Product Photos
Flux 2 editing mode swaps backgrounds, seasons and props without regenerating your product. Here is the end-to-end catalog workflow.
Black Forest Labs' image model with 4MP output and multi-reference consistency.
Flux 2 is Black Forest Labs’ image generation model, released under the FLUX.2 family with up to 4 megapixel output and support for roughly 10 reference images in a single prompt. It is available through the BFL API, paid plans, and open-weight [dev] variants.
Flux 2 is the successor to the FLUX.1 line that made Black Forest Labs a default choice for open image models. The pitch this round is consistency: give it a set of reference images of the same person, product or style, and it holds that identity across new scenes without retraining. Resolution also jumps — 4MP means roughly 2048×2048 up to 2048×2048-class output instead of the 1MP crops most models default to.
You can call it through the BFL API, use hosted versions on third-party platforms, or run the open-weight variants locally if your GPU has the VRAM.
API pricing is per-image and adds up fast for batch testing — generating 500 variations to find one good shot is a real bill. The open-weight tiers are non-commercial unless you pay for a license, and prompt following on dense scenes still trails the newest closed models. Local runs of the [dev] variant want serious VRAM at full resolution.
