Notion Calendar Free

A calendar that shows your Notion docs next to every meeting

Notion Calendar is a free calendar app from Notion, for macOS, Windows and iOS, that connects to your Google and iCloud calendars. The point is the link: any event can be attached to a Notion page, so meeting notes, docs and tasks open from inside the calendar.

What is Notion Calendar?

It started as Cron, a calendar app Notion acquired in 2024 and renamed. It is not a Notion database — it reads real Google Calendar data. If Google Calendar is down, so is Notion Calendar.

That distinction trips people up. Notion Calendar is a client, not a replacement server.

Product Features

  • Event-to-page linking: type /notion in an event or use the link panel to attach an existing Notion page or create one.
  • Multi-account: add several Google accounts side by side, each with its own color, common for work plus personal.
  • Menu bar mode: a compact schedule and quick-join button for the next call lives in the macOS menu bar.
  • Time zones: show a second time zone column, which fixes scheduling with remote clients.
  • Calendar sets: save combinations of calendars (work only, focus only) and switch with a keystroke.
  • Free forever: no paid tier exists; you only need a Notion account.

Product Highlights

Keyboard-first. Press C to create an event, J/K to move between days, T for today. Once the shortcuts land, going back to the Google Calendar web UI feels slow.

No Android app. That is the biggest gap. Android users get nothing, and there is no web version — desktop and iOS only.

Scheduling links are free. You get a public booking page without paying for Calendly, though it is simpler than Calendly’s routing rules.

Use Cases

  1. A consultant who keeps every client call’s notes in a linked Notion page.
  2. A remote engineer juggling two Google accounts and a client time zone.
  3. Recording weekly 1:1 agendas as a template page attached to the recurring event.
  4. Sending a free booking link instead of a paid Calendly seat.
  5. Planning a week of focus blocks in the menu bar without opening a browser.

Is Notion Calendar free?

Yes, entirely. Notion does not charge for it, and it is not gated behind a Notion Plus or Business plan. You do need a Notion account to sign in, and you need a Google or iCloud calendar because Apple’s local calendar storage is not supported as a source.

Who should skip it?

Android users have no option here. People who live in Outlook or Microsoft 365 will also be frustrated: there is no Outlook calendar support, only Google and iCloud. And if you never open Notion, the core feature is dead weight — use Fantastical or the plain Google app.

Quick Summary

  • Notion Calendar is free and available on macOS, Windows and iOS.
  • It reads Google and iCloud calendars; there is no Outlook or Android support.
  • Its one real advantage is linking calendar events to Notion pages of notes.
  • It includes a free public booking page, replacing a basic Calendly subscription.
  • Skip it if you do not use Notion — you get nothing extra.
